After studying the concept of life after death for many years, I have come to the conclusion that the afterlife cannot be understood if you look at it through the single lens – either scientific or spiritual. Instead, the secrets of the universe yield only to a multidisciplinary approach. Science is often best equipped to answer the “what,” and “how” questions of life, but, only spirituality can answer the “why” questions.
For most of human history, the concept of life after death was purely a religious matter. After all, materialists, who believed that every aspect of the human condition – from thought to emotions to categorical imperatives – could be explained by activity in the brain, had little reason to believe that the afterlife was even a logical possibility.
